영국 작가 David McIlwain(1921-1981)의 필명
필명 : Charles Eric Maine(sf), Robert Rayner(Mystery), Robert Wade(general fiction)
2차대전 이후 영국에는 할일이 정말 많았지만 그는 SF작가가 되어 라이오 대본을 썼고, 1952년 BBC에 그의 첫 작품 Spaceways을 팔았다. 이것이 아주 인기를 얻어서 소설, 잡지 연재, 영화, TV드라마로까지 만들어졌다. 그가 쓴 소설중 Timeslip(The Atomic Man 1955)과 Escapement(The Electronic Monster 1957)가 영화로 만들어졌다.
